For a Fashion Design History course, I was tasked with creating a "Design For Us" project where I interviewed someone about a history of dress that remained unwritten in textbooks. I chose to interview my step-father who was a teenager in the midst of 90s skate culture enveloped in rural Iowa. The intention of my project was to highlight the unheard culture of skating and how low income communities often pioneer new fashion.
